Treatment
As cancer is an aggressive disease, we feel that it is important to be just as aggressive in the treatment.
For animals with cancer, we recommend increasing the dosage every 1-2 days and keep increasing until they are getting 3mg/kg for cats and 2mg/kg for dogs. This being said, some animals with the most severe types of cancer may need a higher dosage before they experience ultimate relief. We are here to help and please contact us for guidance.
The exact math is almost impossible to achieve and it's okay to be a bit above or a bit below the recommended dosage. As long as you're close, your fur baby will reap the benefits.
Please note that if your animal has a sensitivity to MCT oil (fractionated coconut oil) or has issues with their pancreas, your animal may require different dosing instructions. While MCT oil is considered a safe/better alternative for animals with pancreatitis, if either of these statements is true for your animal, please contact us directly for more information.
Calculating the Dosage
Most people know the pound weight of their animal. To convert from pounds to kilograms, simply divide the pounds by 2.2 and you'll get the kg weight. You can round slightly up or down to make dosages easier.
Example: 15lbs divided by 2.2 = 6.81kg or 7kg
Cats
Cats can tolerate higher dosages than a dog can. As such, we follow the 0.2mg/kg for felines as a starting point and ending with 3mg/kg. For our example, we will use the average weight of a male housecat = 10lbs/4.5kg
Starting dosage = .90mg twice a day
Slowly reach the level of 3mg/kg
Ending dosage = *13.5mg Daily
*It's okay to round up as this is cancer you're dealing with and you can go a bit higher in the dosage:
-
We recommend starting with the 300mg bottle as the bottle will last you longer so you'll save money
-
The starting dose will be around 0.9mg, once or twice a day. For ease of dosing, we will be starting slightly higher
-
Start with 1/8 of the dropper (between the start of the dropper and the .25mL level) = 1.25mg twice a day = 2.5 daily
-
Give morning and evening, with or without food
-
Increase in 1-2 days by increasing to the .25mL (1/4) level = 2.5mg twice a day = 5mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 1-2 days by adding another 1/8 of the dropper (between the .25mL and .50mL) = 3.75mg twice a day = 7.5mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by increasing to the .50mL (1/2) = 5mg twice a day = 10mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by increasing by 1/8 between the .50mL and .75mL = 6.25mg twice a day = 12.5mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by increasing by 1/8 between to .75mL = 7.5mg twice a day = 15mg daily
-
You have the option to purchase a higher compounded bottle as this will save you money and will mean less MCT oil for your cat.
-
600mg = 1/3 of the dropper (between the .25mL and .50mL) = 7.5mL = 15 daily
-
The Extend Care will be not suitable for your cat
Dogs
Dogs start with a level of 0.1mg per kg and ending with 2mg/kg. For our example, we will use the average weight of male medium-sized dog (Labrador Retriever) = 65lbs/29.55kg
Starting dosage = 2.95mg
Slowly reach the level of 2mg/kg
Ending dosage = 59.10mg
-
We recommend starting with the 600mg bottle
-
The starting dose will be around 2.95mg, twice a day. For ease of dosing, we will be starting slightly lower
-
Start with 1/8 of the dropper (between the start of the dropper and the .25mL level) = 2.5mg twice a day = 5 daily
-
Give morning and evening, with or without food
-
Increase in 1-2 days by increasing to the .25mL (1/4) level = 5mg twice a day = 10mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 1-2 days by adding another 1/8 of the dropper (between the .25mL and .50mL) = 7.5mg twice a day = 15mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by 1/8 between to .50mL = 10mg twice a day = 20mg
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by adding another 1/8 of the dropper (between the .50mL and .75mL) = 12.5mg twice a day = 25mg daily
-
Increase in 2 days by 1/8 between to .75mL = 15mg twice a day = 30mg
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by adding another 1/8 of the dropper (between the .75mL and 1mL) = 17.5mg twice a day = 35mg daily
-
Increase in 2 days by 1/8 between to 1mL = 20mg twice a day = 40mg
-
Continue at this level until the bottle is depleted, then move to the Extend Care bottle
-
Extend Care = Start with the .50mL mg twice a day = 18mg twice a day = 36mg daily
-
Monitor for side effects
-
Increase in 2 days by adding another 1/8 of the dropper (between the .50mL and .75mL) 22.5mg twice a day = 45mg daily
-
Increase in 2 days by 1/8 between to .75mL = 27mg twice a day = 54mg daily
-
The end level of 54 mg will be good for your pet
Extend Care Bottle
Depending on the weight of your animal the Extended Care may be the best choice for you. We formulated this bottle so you can offer the highest dosage at the best price. As this is a high compounded bottle, we ask that you contact us here to place an order. We prefer you have started your animal on a lower compounded bottle before you start with such a high level, as they should be slowly worked up to this high level.
Note: Some breeds are very large and this bottle may be suitable for you to start with. Please contact us here to discuss.

Side Effects
Sleepiness is the most prominent occurrence. This stems from the animal finally being pain/anxiety-free and needing to catch up on some much-needed rest.
Wooziness and being off-balance can also occur. This, we have been told by vets, stems from the animal being pain-free and not being sure why. They seem to be afraid to move about in case the pain returns. As the oil causes pain relief, the animal feels "off" as there is no longer that lingering pain. Another reason that starting low and raising slowly is important.
Diarrhea can sometimes occur. This could be due to the richness of the MTC coconut oil or too many treats. Lower the dosage for a day, until the stool returns to normal, and resume the regular dosage.
Fifteen out of over a thousand dogs have experienced a reaction to the drops. It appears to be the MCT oil (also known as fractionated coconut oil), which we use as a carrier oil. The MCT looks to have caused an allergic reaction in the form of hyper activeness, diarrhea, and/or vomiting. We moved some of these dogs to drops using hemp seed oil as the carrier oil, and they were fine. As each body will produce its own cannabinoids, we feel it is extremely unlikely an animal will be allergic to the actual proprietary cannabimimetic blend.
All of our products are made with natural ingredients. You can not "overdose" your pet and the only issue may arise from them ingesting a large dose of the MCT oil (fractionated coconut oil) and may present as diarrhea or vomiting. If this occurs, please contact us to help.
